Seniors in Canada are facing increased social, economic, and health challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic. To help offset some of the financial stress, the Government of Canada has introduced new support measures for seniors, including a one-time payment of up to $500. Check out the official news release to find out what else in the works for seniors.

Speaking of financial stress, physical distancing protocols have led to a loss of income for many people. To make things a little easier on your wallet, check out this list of discounted or temporarily free services you can access during the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes everything from car insurance discounts to extended free trials on TV streaming platforms!

There has been a lot of concern about personal protective equipment shortages during the coronavirus pandemic. Luckily, these Queen’s University students have banded together to 3D print thousands of face masks and PPE items for front-line health care workers in their community. What a great example of people stepping up to help in times of crisis.

Here’s something to bring a little levity to your day: 200 goats escaped their enclosure and ran wild through a residential neighbourhood in California yesterday. Check out the link for a video of the happy herd enjoying their newfound freedom!
